KeyCDN Launches New POP in Atlanta
We're happy to announce that one more point of presence (POP) is in production in the US. Atlanta is the 8th KeyCDN location in the United States and it won't be the last. It will further improve latency and throughput in several states.
Atlanta POP now serving Southeastern States
After launching a POP last week in Paris, this Atlanta POP is already the second location that we've launched this year. So far, traffic from Southeastern States was routed to either Dallas or Miami based on various routing criteria. Having this POP in Atlanta will again lower latency and improve throughput in this region. Latency in Atlanta is now as low as 0.4 milliseconds.
KeyCDN is currently operating 8 locations in the US. One more location is planned in Denver. Canada will also get its first POP. KeyCDN is frequently analysing traffic patterns in order to determine future locations. Once we have a shortlist of potential locations, we scout the market for infrastructure partners that meet our requirements. It's a fast changing market and we make sure we don't miss a chance to launch a new POP.
