KeyCDN Launches New POP in Mexico
Hola Mexico! We've launched our new point of presence (POP) in Mexico City. The POP is strategically located within the country and lowers latency overall. KeyCDN is always on the lookout for ways to minimize latency and accelerate asset delivery worldwide. With this new POP, our performance in Latin America has significantly improved and provides a better web experience. The POP is in production and enabled for all existing Zones.
POP in Mexico City
After launching POPs in Dubai, Tel Aviv, Brisbane, Athens and Denver this year, the new POP boosts performance for Central America. Mexico has a population of almost 130 millions people. The metropolitan area of Mexico City with over 21 million people makes it the 5th largest city in the world. Requests from Mexico were previously routed to the US, which is no longer needed. Traffic from this POP will be billed towards Latin America according to our pricing.
How to check if content is delivered from Mexico
Each POP adds the HTTP response header X-Edge-Location
to all assets delivered via KeyCDN. In this case, the POP's identifier is mxmc
. The first two letters stand for the country TLD, while the 3rd and 4th letters are for the city. You can quickly check the response headers using Chrome DevTools, a speed test tool, or a simple curl command like the one below:
curl -I 'https://www.keycdn.com/img/favicon/favicon.ico'
HTTP/2 200
